Watching the night sky through the big pyramid-shaped window that points straight to the stars.
This glowing midcentury mountain retreat was built in the 1960’s by my father and uncle (Wilkie and Bob). They began construction when I was two and nailed the last board into place the year I turned sixteen. As kids, we'd roost up in the A-frame loft, side-by-side watching the night sky through the big pyramid-shaped window that points straight to the stars.
Today the Wilkie cabin welcomes a variety of guests. It sleeps 10 comfortably, but cozy enough for a romantic weekend for two. The back deck, nestled among the trees, is the perfect setting for a family reunion, yoga retreat, or book club outing. The Wilkie Cabin was built with a lot of love amidst the wonders of the National Forest. We are proud to share it.
Come on up!
